Kind-Hearted Kindergarten News

Our class has been busy with many things this week—reading, writing, math, art, music, religion, social studies, and science!  No wonder we are tired at the end of the day!  We have been hit with a little illness in our class so it becomes even more important to get good sleep.  Did you know that young children need 9 ? to 11 hours of sleep a night?

We are excited about our Fall Party coming up on Friday.  Children may bring a costume to wear in the afternoon—please NO weapons or scary masks!  Our fifth and sixth grade class will be putting on a carnival for us, and the PTL will have special cookies and juice for us that day.  Children may bring treats for their friends—there are eight (8) in our class.

We began two new fun things in our class this week—“Reading Buddies” and “Game Buddies”.  Our fifth and sixth grade friends come to our classroom for 15 minutes on Friday afternoons and read to us, and our seventh and eighth grade friends are going to come and play board games (to help us learn how to take turns) on Monday afternoons!

Reminders To Both Groups:

*I am a firm believer in the benefits of fresh air and sunshine, so we will continue to go outside all winter on days that are not raining or too freezing! Please send your child ready to play outside with hats, mittens, warm coats, boots for mud or snow and snow pants when the snow starts to fly.  We are already excited and talking about all the fun snowmen we are going to make!!

*I will be offering two evenings for Parent-Teacher Conferences to accommodate all my families this year!  Attached to this Braves, you will find a sign-up sheet.  Please give your first three choices of conference times, and I will do my best to schedule you at the time you prefer.  Please turn these back in to me by next Friday, Oct. 30, and I will send home the completed schedule on Monday, Nov. 2.

Thank you!
